Tractor maintenance, driving skills last participants a lifetime

GREENFIELD — When it was announced last year that the Hancock County 4-H Fair would be moved ahead in 2012, questions loomed about how the date change would affect 4-H’ers and their projects.

Among those questions was this one: Who would take over the Tractor Maintenance project?

Longtime superintendants Kelly and DeWayne Paugh said they would have to give up the project in light of the new fair date, which would conflict with their farming obligations. If no one else took up the reins, the project would fall by the wayside.

Well, Jill and Phillip Scott weren’t about to let that happen.
